Some aldermans in Calgary are urging council to ban completely the usage of plastic bag.
Some stores already did the change like Community Natural Food who banned the bags last year. They were expecting a drop in sales, but it didn't happened. Customer were happy with it and now most, if not all, have a reusable cloth or paper bag.
Studies shows that Calgary recycle some 31 millions bag a year, and throw another 744 million directy to the landfill.
Others cities already banned plastic bags, where others impose selling the bags for $0.05.
